As one of the top ten buildings in Beijing, the Bird's Nest serves as the main stadium for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
The components of the entire stadium structure support each other, forming a grid-like framework. The exterior looks like a bird's nest woven by branches, hence its name.
It is said that there is not a single column inside. The stands present a complete bowl-shaped design without any obstructions, just like a huge container. Sitting in the stadium is truly an overwhelming experience.
The Bird's Nest is very photogenic. Whenever night falls, red lights seep out from the steel frames, making it very eye-catching when viewed from a distance. And the square in front of the building is now very lively, which is a great place for fitness and exercise.
Photography Tips:
- It is recommended to take photos from the south or north side of the building, so that the shape of the Bird's Nest will be relatively complete.
- If you want to photograph the Bird's Nest from the Beijing Olympic Tower, you need to bring a telephoto lens, a powerful clamp, and an anti-loss rope. The wind is quite strong up there, so pay attention to safety.
- Basically, the Bird's Nest will be illuminated every weekend. You can choose to take photos on weekends.
